By nominally walkable I mean there was one restaurant and one grocery store within walking distance. That isn’t enough to really encourage walking. Walking should be an easy part of life and be pleasant to do, not just a conscious choice. Which is the point of the Yonge St project.
I live in Toronto. I have three groceries within four blocks. I went on a 10k run this morning through parkland.
